Head of Drama and Schools Co-ordinator:
Anne MacLachlan (LLAM / ALAM)

Anne has been teaching at TRSPA as Head of Drama for over 13 years. She studied at the Nottingham Academy of Speech, Dance and Drama, tutored by Mavis Hoffman, one of the Principal Examiners of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and completed her training at LAMDA, gaining all awards up to and including the Licentiate and Associate Diplomas.

She then returned to Nottingham as Deputy Principal to assist in the running of the Academy, teaching Acting, Speech, Verse and Prose, Mime, as well as all forms of dance (ballet, tap, modern, character). She co-wrote the mime syllabus for LAMDA in the 1980's and this became her specialist subject, touring the UK giving workshops to other teachers and their pupils in the techniques. Anne has recently been approached to become an examiner for the London Academy, a part time role she may consider in the future.

Anne is the Founder and Principal of The Anne Rachel School of Drama in Lincoln where she teaches Acting and other theatre skill syllabus to advanced examination level, to her 60+ pupils and is passionate about teaching drama to students, whatever their age or aspirations.

Dancing Accreditations include The Wizard of Oz (Nottingham Playhouse), Dido and Aeneus (Glyndebourne Opera) and resident dancer / backing vocalist for cabaret acts such as Ken Dodd, Chas and Dave, The Stylistics, Duncan Norvelle and Bradley Walsh. She also worked for Central Studios in both film and television productions and toured as a Tiller Girl for the Black and White Minstrels in the 1980's.

Head of Singing - Christian Norton (ALCM)

Christian is an Associate of the London College of Music, specialising in Music Theatre. He has previously worked as a secondary school music teacher but now spends his time giving vocal tuition leading to graded exams and working with youth theatre groups.

As a performer, Christian has had the pleasure of singing at many great venues across the country including the Buxton Opera House, where he was invited to sing the role of Young Ben in the musical "Follies" to celebrate Stephen Sondheim's 70th birthday, as a soloist in the Greenwich "Musical Futures" festival (a showcase for newly written musicals) and has played leading roles for many local groups including CAODS, LAODS & Stroke of Genius Theatre Company.

Head of Dance - Alison Riley (BA Hons AIDTA)

With her infectious energy and enthusiasm, Alison loves to see people enjoying themselves and improving their skills in dance and performance.  Alison began dancing at the age of two learning ballet, tap and modern but her passion for teaching began at the age of 16 when she was selected by Keith Clifton (Strictly’s Kevin and Joanne’s Dad) to become a student teacher at his dance school. 

In 2000 Alison graduated from Bretton Hall College with a BA (Hons) in Dance which was followed by a two season stint, initially as a Butlins Redcoat followed by performing at the Skegness resort in the Skyline Gang, Reds Cast and Centre Stage production team.  She then went on to be dance captain and company choreographer for Renowned Holidays based on Hayling Island and the Isle of Wight.

In 2004 Alison opened Footworks Dance Co.  which was based in Hampshire.  During this time she taught dance for Stagecoach in Basingstoke and Camberly, Theatre Train in Basingstoke and at Farnborough College on the BTEC Performing Arts course.  She also trained hundreds of dancers across Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey and London.  She is proud that her dancers and choreography were selected to perform at her Majesty’s Theatre and at the Royal Albert Hall.

In the past five years Alison has been teaching GCSE Performing Arts, producing primary school performances and continues to perform as a fire-hoop dancer with the Earthbound Misfit Circus.  As if that wasn’t enough she is also a drummer in Sambalada and Gyoko Taiko

Deputy Main School Teacher - Ian Ganderton

Ian Ganderton trained at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. His stage career has included roles in London, all over the UK and internationally.

Theatre credits include: Stepping Out (National Tour), Noises Off (Recent Tour), Out of Order, Red Peppers, The Tempest, Taming of the Shrew (Theatre Clywd), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Bard Unbound), Under Milkwood, The Real Inspector Hound, Black Comedy, Ghost Train (Revival Tour), The Importance of Being Earnest, The Elephant Man and Hedda Gabler.
Musical Theatre Includes: Cabaret (Emcee), My and My Girl (Bill), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Inventor), West End, Fiddler on the Roof (Motel), We'll Meet Again (Lead Vocalist), Half a Sixpence (Arthur Kipps) and Joseph & His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Joseph) National tour.

Ian's Television work includes roles in several series.

An award winning dancer and choreographer Ian has worked on shows as diverse as Tommy and The Happiest Millionaire as well as summer season reviews and pantomime.

Deputy Teacher - Charlotte MacLachlan

Charlotte trained at the Anne Rachel School of Drama and at TRSPA. She began her professional career at the age of 4 appearing as a child in Central TV's Peak Practice and made her stage debut playing the role of orphan Kate in the production of Annie. 8 years later she joined the main cast of Annie as part of the ensemble and later both the UK, Asian and New Zealand tours as Bonnie Boylen.

Charlotte has appeared in commercials for Quiet Storm Films and LBV TV and in training videos for Staffordshire Primary Care Trust and Humberside Fire and Rescue. She has appeared as a solo vocalist for the BBC Children in Need and as a Public Speaker for Lincoln County Council and as a dancer in Peter Pan, Pirates of the Caribbean and Dick Whittington at the Lincoln Theatre Royal, and the role of Slave of the Ring in Aladdin at the Gracie Fields Theatre, Rochdale.

Charlotte has toured Cyprus as a principal singer and dancer for KB Entertainment and has performed the role Of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz for both Yellow Brick Road Productions and Bruce James Productions. She played the title role in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves opposite Lisa Riley in Pantomime in Portsmouth and as Maid Marion with Cannon and Ball in Robin Hood at the Lincoln Theatre Royal. Charlotte performed as lead vocalist on the Thomson Dream during the summer of 2013 and then as lead vocalist on P and O Australia’s Pacific Jewel in 2014. Charlotte is delighted to have been asked back for the maiden voyage of their new flagship the Pacific Eden and will remain on board for 7 months cruising around southern and western Australia and the Pacific Islands.

Charlotte is currently working towards her ALCM and P Cert LAM.

Deputy Dance Teacher - Miss Claire Limpkin (RAD RTS)

Claire is a passionate and patient teacher who has years of teaching experience within the dance and fitness fields. Her aim is to develop and nurture every student's individual talents and  love for dance. Claire's love of dance first began at her local Dance and Theatre school in Louth and she trained in many disciplines of dance, progressing through examinations to gain vocational certificates.   Claire moved to Nottingham in 2001 and whilst there studied for an ETM qualification, allowing her to teach in the beautiful surroundings of Eden Hall as a gym and exercise instructor. She then decided to pursue teaching qualifications whilst freelance teaching for community fitness groups and dance schools in and around Lincolnshire and in 2003 Claire began teaching for the "Joanne Haylock School of Dance" and parted company in 2015 to concentrate on the running of her own school, Lincoln Dance Company. In 2013 she completed her final teaching qualification through the Royal Academy of Dance where she was presented with her Certificate in Ballet teaching studies by Darcey Bussell CBE.
